2022 FIFA World Cup:
The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be held in Qatar from November to December. This will be the first time in history that the tournament will take place in the Middle East and the first to be held in winter. The decision to host the tournament during these months was made to avoid the extreme summer temperatures in Qatar, which can reach up to 122°F (50°C).
In order to accommodate the shortened timeframe, the tournament will consist of 8 stadiums located in 5 host cities: Al-Daayen, Al-Khor, Al-Rayyan, Al-Wakrah, and Doha. These stadiums will feature state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure to provide an exceptional experience for both players and spectators.
The 32 participating teams will compete in a total of 64 matches, with the final set to be held at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail, a city currently under construction. The stadium will have a capacity of 80,000 seats and will serve as a representation of Qatar’s rich cultural heritage.
