A bicycle, also known as a bike, cycle, pushbike, or pushcycle, is a type of vehicle that consists of two wheels – one in the front and one in the back – a handlebar for steering, and a saddle for seating. It is propelled by the force applied by the rider’s feet on the pedals.
The origin of the bicycle dates back to 1866 when the Qing Dynasty sent its first overseas exploration team. In the travelogue written by the 19-year-old Zhang Deyi, the term “bicycle” was used for the first time, and it has been used ever since.
