The clarinet, pronounced [klæri’net], is a musical instrument that belongs to the woodwind family. It is often referred to as a single-reed instrument and is commonly known as the “black pipe”. English, on the other hand, is a West Germanic language that originated in early medieval England and eventually became a global language. It was named after the Angles, a Germanic tribe who migrated to the British Isles and settled in what is now known as England. Both the name “Angles” and “England” are derived from Anglia, a region in the Baltic Peninsula.
