吉他指板是什么

Fingerboard, also known as fretboard, is typically made of rosewood or, in higher-end models, ebony. Cheaper guitars often use black lacquer directly on the fingerboard, which may chip off after just a few uses. In the case of branded guitar manufacturers’ more advanced models, they usually embed shell decorations on the fingerboard to enhance the guitar’s elegance. The fingerboard has a string rest and is fitted with many narrow, slightly raised metal bars called “frets”, which divide the strings into various semitones. Familiarity with each note on the guitar fingerboard is a goal that every guitarist must strive for. The fingerboard is a long, rectangular wooden piece that is glued onto the top of the neck and serves as the area where the player’s fingers dance. It is a highly significant component. The surface of the fingerboard is semicircular in shape. Violins typically have a curvature with a radius of 415 millimeters. Smaller violins and violas have slightly less curvature.
