The English College Entrance Examination, commonly known as the English CET-4 and CET-6, is a nationwide English test administered by the Ministry of Education. Its purpose is to objectively and accurately measure the practical English ability of college students, providing evaluation services for college English teaching. The CET-4 and CET-6 are national-level English examinations supervised by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. The main targets of the exam are undergraduate or graduate students who have completed the required English courses according to the curriculum. The registration time for the CET-4 and CET-6 is usually in June and December of each year, with slight variations. The exam results are typically announced and the score reports are issued in August or September after the exam. According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, there is no passing score for the CET-4 and CET-6; however, obtaining a score of 425 or above in the CET-4 qualifies one to take the CET-6.
