Hair conditioner, also known as hair moisturizer, is commonly used in combination with shampoo. After shampooing, apply a moderate amount of hair conditioner evenly onto the hair. Gently massage for about a minute, then rinse off with water. Some people also refer to it as a rinse-out hair treatment, which falls under the category of hair care cosmetics. Hair conditioners can be classified into two types based on their appearance: transparent and emulsion. Emulsion-type products are more commonly found in the market.
Shampoo relies on anionic and non-ionic surfactants as the main ingredients to provide cleaning and foaming effects. On the other hand, hair conditioners mainly consist of cationic surfactants. After washing the hair with shampoo, using a hair conditioner can neutralize the remaining anionic molecules on the hair surface, forming a monomolecular film. This helps to make tangled hair more manageable and easier to comb.
